  1. What things do we need to bring?
    1. – Linens & blankets/sleeping bags (pillows are there for use ,12  twins & 1 double),
      – towels,
      – flashlights,
      – insect repellent,
      – tea lights (there are Ikea lanterns provided for the upstairs and a limited number of tealights supplied),
      – block ice for cooler,
      – drinking water,
      – first aid kit,
      – for your safety please bring regulation life jackets for all your party,
      – clear plastic garbage bags for garbage and recyclable items;
      * PLEASE DO NOT COMPOST ON SITE DUE TO BEAR AND WILDLIFE ATTRACTION.  PLEASE TAKE BACK EVERYTHING YOU BRING IN AND LEAVE THE LORAINE AS YOU FOUND IT FOR THE NEXT RENTERS!!

  1. What kitchen supplies are at the Loraine?
    1. Fully equipped with outdoor bbq.  Bring your own condiments and food.

 

  1. Is the water taxi from Wright’s Marina the only way to get to the island?
    1. Yes.  There is also an old fishing boat with a small outboard at the marina for your use but a boating license and knowledge of the area and all the rocks is necessary

 

  1. Where is the best place to pick up food supplies?
    1. Parry Sound, if you are coming from the south…Sudbury, if coming from the north.  There are small stores along the way and a liquor store at Point Au Baril and at St Amants convenience and hardware store.  St Amants is also the only restaurant/motel in town.

 

  1. Are there coolers available at the Loraine? Should we bring bags of ice?
    1. A propane fridge with small freezer is at the Loraine. There is one large cooler available for use and block ice (obtainable at Wrights Marina) lasts the longest.

 

  1. In an emergency, who should we contact for help?   
    1. Try the owners, but if they are not available, contact:
